“זורו” – לוחם צדק, גיבור תרבות במסכה.

זורו היא דמות בדיונית ספרותית ששימשה השראה לדמויות של גיבורי העל. בעבודה תלת מימדית זו נתתי ביטוי לחומר שממנו נעשו המלחמות והיא מורכבת על בסיס שיש, החומר ממנו מורכבים הזכרונות של הנותרים. העבר האנושי נבנה על גבי מלחמות, בעיקר במדינתנו, כך שעבודה זו היא סוג של אנדרטה למין האנושי ודרך הישרדותו בנסיון לבנות עולם חדש אשר המלחמות אינם עוד חלק בו. האם ניתן לשנות את ראיית העולם הסבורה כי “כל דאלים גבר“? “זורו” שהיה לוחם צדק השתמש אף הוא באלימות בכדי למגר את כוחות הרשע. האם נוכל כאנושות לצאת ממעגל אלימות זו ולפעול כחברה מכילה, אוהבת, תומכת ושיוויונית?

עץ בונזאי יבש, שתול לכרך 18 (צמחים) של אנצקלופדיה בריטניקה.

שם העבודה “A New Survey of Universal Knowledge” הוא כותרת הכרך האמור, והומאז’ לעץ הדעת.

ביצירה זו באתי להדגיש את הקשר הבל-ינותק שבין העץ, כאלמנט גולמי בתעשיית הנייר, לבין האנצקלופדיה, מקור ידע, בה “שתלתי” את הבונזאי – “עץ-הדעת”, אשר יבש ומייצג עימו את התפתחות החברה שלנו;

בה ככל שאנו גדלים והופכים לחברה דיגיטלית,

אנציקלופדיות וספרים רבים הופכים למיותרים ומושלכים החוצה.

אני גואל אותם מהפיכתם לפסולת מתה, ונותן להם תוחלת חיים נוספת, הפעם – כיצירות אמנות.

תוהה ובוהה הינו המצב האישי שלי כאומן העומד בפני האנדרלמוסיה הפנימית כבן אנוש לדרמה החיצונית בעידן המתעתע בנו לאחרונה. ביצירה ריבוי מסרים ופרטי פרטים אשר מצד אחד מתחברים לנרטיב הבריאה (תהו ובוהו) ומהצד השני עוסקים בפירוק שקיים כיום בעולם בכל תחומי החיים. “מה היא מידת האדם?” האם לי כיוצר וליצירותי ישנה השפעה על העולם החיצוני שהוא מעבר לסביבתי הקרובה או הפנימית.
העבודה מורכבת מאלפי חלקים שהם שאריות של עבודות משנים עברו וכולן חלק מסדרה נרחבת של עבודות נייר. תוהה ובוהה במבוכיי נפשי, מעין לבירינט של מחילות שמפרקות קטעים ופרקים בחיינו אשר חודרים לעומקים שאני כיוצר והצופה בהן כישות עצמאית אובייקטיבית יכולים להסתתר ולהסתחרר בסוג של אורבניות מדומה.

Made from Sotheby’s and Christie’s art catalogs.
I made this work during Covid-19 (Corona) quarantine days.
The work is coated with crystal material that protects against moisture and (UV) radiation damage. The work is glued to the back of a high density double sided grey cardboard and ready to be hung. This work can be hung in four different directions. The work can be framed but I recommend not to, as it is durable and more impressive as is.

Homage to John Cage Sculpture by Moshe Gordon

Sculpture: Paper, Paper mache, Resin, Environmental, Color on Paper, Cardboard.

John Cage is one of my inspirational fathers and this work is dedicated to him.
I used Schumann’s music score pages. – above the notes – a layer of Bible pages from “Proverbs”, interspersed with five gilded Mozart candy packaging pages, and, above all, pages taken from the Sotheby’s catalog.
The work is coated with crystal material that protects against moisture and (UV) radiation damage. The work is glued to the back of a High density double sides grey cardboard and ready to be hung.
